Kristina Hay

KRISTINA HAY is a Norwegian dance artist, educator, and community organizer based in Brooklyn, NY. Kristina creates, performs, and facilitates art in education and performance by drawing on her MA in International Relations from Queen Mary's University in London and her Bachelors in Fine Arts from London Studio Centre. In short, Kristina believes in the power of art to heal and transform communities. Further, she believes in collaboration between education, art, and diplomacy, to foster connections and change.

Kristina Hay has performed in ballet and modern dance companies across Norway, the UK, and the USA. Trained at the Norwegian Opera and Ballet where she performed in multiple productions, she then went on to do her BA at London Studio Centre, where she was awarded a double distinction. Later she was chosen to do a UK national tour with INTOTO Dance Company with a triple bill by Jose Agudo, Henri Oguike, and John Ross. In recent years she has starred in a recreation of "The Miserere Project" by David Earle, recreated by Same As Sister (S.A.S), starred in Robert Kenney’s multi-media installation “ORIGINS”, and toured and performed with Sikora + Dance, toured and performed internationally with Same As Sister (S.A.S), Jesse Salaman, Hilary Brown, Feeling Blue Collective, Meredith Bruno Company, Diana Scarborough, Raeman Kilfoil and more. She has also choreographed for Kayla Arend’s award-winning film, “Lost Beyond the Stars”, and starred in multiple films and music videos. Kristina has performed and choreographed multiple performance pieces, which have been performed at Judson Church, Socrates Sculpture Park, Castle Rockaway, Central St Martins, Artsdepot, Common Place Studio Inc, and Arts On-Site to name a few. She is set to premiere a new work in 2024 called “FILTER”.

As a teacher and facilitator in recent years, Kristina has co-created and is the Director of the non-profit Common Place Studio Inc,, she has also taught at Long Island City School of Ballet, Ascend Public Charter School in Brownsville, Commonpoint Queens, Brooklyn Ballet and has held masterclasses on tours and domestically with multiple dance companies. Kristina also hosts free community events for other artists. 

Kristina is incredibly honored to be an apprentice for Lori Belilove & The Isadora Duncan Dance Company and dreams of continuing learning and growing with the company in the future.
