Apprenticeships, Auditions, Scholarships, & Workstudy

  • Ideal for dancers who are currently enrolled in school or seeking high caliber professional training.

    In half year cycles, IDDF accepts promising candidates into the Pre-Professional Trainee Program. Over 6 months, dancers within the program receive access to all of our weekly class offerings, quality attention from Lori Belilove and senior company members, and invitation to company rehearsals, workshops, and performances on a per project basis.

    Dancers who participate in the Pre-Professional Trainee Program benefit from immersive, extensive dance training in the Isadora Duncan style, gain experience from interacting with a professional dance company, and develop connections with Teaching Artists within The Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation.

    On completion, the dancer may be invited into the Apprentice Program.

    Tuition: $1800

    Tuition includes access to all classes, workshops, and trainings held by IDDF.

    Tuition does not include housing, materials, or transportation.

  • Apprenticeships are offered on an individual basis to students demonstrating exceptional talent, commitment, and eagerness to learn. Apprentices train with the Company, taking classes and participating in rehearsals and other activities on a per-project basis for 1 year. Apprentices gain performing experience by participating in lecture/demonstrations and group works in a formal setting (as available). Apprentices are assessed (approximately every 4 months) by private meetings with Artistic Director Lori Belilove.

    Upon completion of the Apprenticeship and on an individual basis, Apprentices may be invited into full Company membership by Artistic Director Lori Belilove.

    The Apprenticeship role is an unpaid position.

    Apprentices receive access to all classes, workshops, and trainings at no cost.

    Apprentices are expected to commit to The Company’s full class and rehearsal schedule.

    Audition Dates:

    Saturday February 8th at 4:00PM

    Thursday February 20th at 1:00PM

    Callback February 27th 1:00PM

    **In order to be seen at your chosen audition day, you MUST attend the same-day class prior to the audition. Dancers will not be permitted to audition if they have not attended class on that day.
    Class Times are:
    2/8 : 1:30 - 2:45PM
    2/20: 10 - 12PM
    A fee of $5 (online pre-paid) or $10 cash at the door is required.

  • A limited number of scholarships are offered on an individual basis to students demonstrating exceptional talent, commitment and financial hardship. To apply, send a letter of intent, photo, and resume to the classes@isadoraduncan.org

  • In exchange for classes or other opportunities, indviduals can enroll in the Workstudy Program. The Workstudy candidate will complete tasks that support the Company and Foundation, which may include office administration such as filing, general correspondence, communication, cataloguing, and tasks relevant with the candidate’s specific skill set (photoshop, graphic design). Additonal tasks may include ushering at Company performances, assistance with parties and events, costume projects, mailing projects, assisting in children’s classes, and posting flyers.
