The Medal of Honor for Achievement in Archaeology will be presented to The American School of Classical Studies at Athens by The National Arts Club for Archaeology on Wednesday, January 24 2024.

With the goal of bringing diverse people together, the National Arts Club considers itself privileged to arrange lectures related to our shared humanity. We believe that knowledge of antiquity’s Hellas is fundamental for comprehending the historic flow of civilizations, for analyzing the role artistic beauty plays in our lives as well as for understanding today’s political disputes concerning the very meaning of democracy. Internationally renowned speakers at this gala celebration are Mary Lefkowitz and John McK. Camp. Also featuring will be The Mediterranean, composed by Spehen Peak and performers Emily D’Angelo and Hayley Rose performing Isadora Duncan’s Tanagra Figures, with a special staging by Lori Belilove . Music composition “Ancient Figures” will be performed live by composer John Link .

During this celebratory event, Lori Belilove will also screen her choreography for Selinunte, filmed at the Temple of Hera in Selinunte, Magna Greacia, in Sicily. Choreography by Lori Belilove performed by Lori Belilove, Cherlyn Smith, Karen Dantzler, Beth Disharoon, and Julia Pond. Music (Into the Ground) composed by John Link and performed by the John Link Project. Video editing by Angelo Bozzolini. Music and sound editing by John Link. Costumes by Lori Belilove. Produced by the Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation in conjunction with the Culture De Mari, Italo Gomez, Director. 4 minutes and 26 seconds.
